Care during pregnancy

Nine months of a shifting centre of gravity, on a pelvis that is being asked to do something new.

What changes

The load moves forward, the curve of the lower back deepens, and the ligaments soften. That combination is why so much pregnancy back and pelvic pain arrives in the second and third trimester rather than the first.

How we work

Positioning and technique are adapted throughout, and adapted again as pregnancy progresses. Comfort during the visit itself is part of the point.

Afterwards

The months after birth carry their own load: feeding posture, carrying on one hip, broken sleep. That is worth attention too and it usually gets none.

Common during pregnancy

  • Lower back pain
  • Pelvic and hip pain
  • Sciatica
  • Mid-back and rib discomfort
  • Postpartum recovery

Most people wait far too long

A first visit is a history, an examination, and a straight answer about whether we can actually help. That's it.
