Neck pain and stiffness

Neck Pain

Neck pain and stiffness

The problem a phone and a desk build quietly over years, then announce in a single morning.

Where it comes from

The head weighs about the same as a bowling ball. Every inch it drifts forward multiplies what the neck and upper back have to hold. Most of the necks we see were not injured, they were slowly loaded.

When it is more than a stiff neck

Pain into the shoulder or down the arm, pins and needles in the hands, or headaches starting at the base of the skull all point at the neck rather than where you feel them. That is worth an examination.

After a car accident

Whiplash often feels manageable for the first day or two and worse in the week after. Getting assessed early matters, both for your recovery and for your records.

What we see most

  • Desk and phone posture
  • Pain into the shoulder or arm
